During the Second World War the site was briefly the headquarters of the Commander-in-Chief, Home Forces from late 1939 until the headquarters moved out to St Pauls School in July 1940. In this post WW2 picture soldiers who have undergone re habilitation are learning to find their feet with the aid of dance and communication.
